As this was the first book we picked when we began the book club, it's been a few months since I've read this book. I really enjoyed it, I loved the world Hardinge has created, and her characters are very interesting. C has pointed out that Mosca is not very likeable, but I dig that. The main character does not always have to be a Mary Sue, I liked Mosca's flaws, even though I found myself yelling at her for her stupidity now and then. I felt that it was in keeping with her character.
Clent was a great character, he reminded me of Horace Slughorn from the Harry Potter books, only even more devious. Despite his many shortcomings there is something charming about Clent, in the way he speaks. He would make a great politician!
What did you think? The ending obviously left room for a sequel or two, would you be as willing as I am to read them?
